New Calling

2 Sundays ago I was called to be the new 2nd Counselor in the RS Presidency. I was completely shocked by this calling. I was thinking a couple of months ago that I could never be in the RS presidency because these women are AWESOME!! I looked up to them so much. Well, I guess I learned my lesson. I will no longer be comparing myself to anyone, and thinking that I am not able to do something.

I am still scared and nervous about my calling, but I am slowly getting better. I am learning new things all the time, and trying not to be too intimidated by things. For anyone that doesn't know me well, I am very shy and reserved. I don't mind talking to new people, but I don't like initiating the conversation. That is definitely going to have to change. I know I am in for a world of change. I am going to be pushed out of my comfort zone, which will be a good thing for me. The thing I am most nervous about right now is teaching. I am scared to be in front of a lot of people, but its just something that I will have to get used to.

I am looking forward to all the fun activities and getting to know the sisters in my ward. I just hope I don't let my fears get the best of me.

You'll be great! I felt the same way when I was called to be the RS secretary in our ward in PG. I was so intimidated! I didn't know how I was going to step out of my shell to meet everyone. I have to tell you after a couple month I was really surprised at how easy initiating a conversation was getting for me! It was something that started to come the minute after I go set apart, I have no doubt it will be the same for you. In fact after 2 years we moved and I was so sad because I had made so many friends in that ward! Heavenly Father called you for a reason!

You will do great Cheryl. I am sure there is someone that really needs you in there. It would be a hard calling for me also.

You will do so good at that, I hate getting out of my comfort zone to...I just got released from the Primary presidency, I was so scared at first and learned to love it, but being in front of women is different.
